TROO Hospitality has recently launched Future Plus within the properties that fall under the company’s responsibility. The software is being used to ensure the proper oversight of the various sustainability initiatives launched by TROO Hospitality within the hotels they have been entrusted with.

Kevin Hobson, Director of Property for TROO, explained that in today’s world one cannot ignore the importance of sustainability.  “We hear and talk about sustainability all of the time, however this means very little if we do not implement concrete action plans to ensure that we reduce our carbon footprint on the planet.  Hotels are big consumers and leave a significant impact on the environment but this can also be managed and reduced through the implementation of the right program, the use of the best technology and an effective operating protocol that is followed by the team”.

“At TROO we believe that the value of the properties we are managing will be affected by the green credentials or lack of them in due course.  By ensuring that we are operating in the most sustainable way possible, we are not only doing our part to reduce our impact on the environment, but we believe that we are enhancing the long term value of the properties we are entrusted with. In the future properties will either be rewarded with a ‘Green premium’ or penalized with a ‘Brown penalty’.  We want to be on the right side of that by the way we operate”, explained Winston Zahra, TROO founder and CEO.
